Electric Showers, Power Showers & Mixer Showers

Electric Showers are highly versatile and can be used with any domestic water system as the only need a cold water feed. The cold water is heated to the desired temperature and most types of electric showers have a flow selector too, where the rate of flow can be selected from low, to medium and high. Electric showers range from around 7kw to around 12kw, the higher being able to heat the water quicker and therefore delivering a higher temperature at maximum flow.

Power Showers deliver a more powerful stream of water than electric showers, hence the name, 'power shower'. This is achieved by an integral pump which draws water from your hot water tank and pumps it out at a higher pressure. Power shower require a feed from both your hot and cold water supply, and are only suited to certain types of domestic water systems.

Mixer Showers, as the name suggests mix the hot and cold water supply to deliver the desired temperature. Unlike electric showers which work with all domestic water systems, mixer showers ideally require a high pressure water system, as the water can only come out as quickly as it goes in. However in certain cases this can be rectified by installing a water pump to increase the pressure to the shower.
